A Living Legacy

Amoli — Priceless.
Not in the material sense, but like lullabies sung under neem trees, the scent of old books, or stories whispered by grandparents on long summer nights.

Tucked deep within Jaipur’s Pink City, Amoli Haveli lies hidden inside the storied Sitaram Bhawan, on Munshi Ramdas Ji Ka Rasta near Ganga Pole — one of the original gateways to the Walled City. Nearly 300 years old, the haveli was once home to a Mathur Kayastha family — royal scribes and accountants in the courts of kings. Its weathered courtyards have echoed with rituals and laughter, monsoon dances and whispered secrets, sheltered beneath the fading glow of heritage and memory.

Time faded its paint, fire touched its bones, but over two years, we gently brought it back—layer by layer, breath by breath—until it rose again, like a phoenix cloaked in lime and memory.

If you've ever heard your grandparents speak of old ancestral homes, read about them in dusty novels, or seen them flicker across your favorite films—then you already know Amoli. You've been here in dreams.

And now, it's real.

Amoli Haveli — not just a stay, but a story.

Your home away from home, where the past lingers softly, and magic lives quietly in the walls.

Our Design

Our Design

Crafted with memory. Restored with soul.

Amoli Haveli isn’t a replica of the past — it is the past, carefully revived. Every detail in its design is a conversation between what was, and what still could be.

The haveli’s original lime plaster, hand-carved stone brackets, and traditional jharokhas have been preserved and restored by artisans who understand not just craft, but context. The faded murals, once muted by time, now breathe again. Wooden beams have been retained wherever possible, their grains holding onto generations of touch and time.

Rooms have been thoughtfully designed to blend vintage charm with modern comfort — handcrafted furniture, soft lighting, and subtle Rajasthani block prints coexist with smart amenities like 50-inch Sony TVs and curated tea corners. The color palette flows with the seasons: warm terracottas, soft creams, and touches of indigo inspired by Jaipur's sky.

Our courtyards remain untouched in spirit — shaded, quiet, and still perfect for conversations over chai. The rooftop, once a forgotten terrace, now opens up to sunsets over the Pink City and distant views of Nahargarh Fort.

At Amoli, design doesn’t shout — it listens. It welcomes you to stay a while, and feel the quiet luxury of something that’s real.

Whether it's the graceful arches, curated furnishings, or the gentle warmth of natural light, everything is designed to help you slow down and feel at home.

Throughout the haveli, modern conveniences coexist with old-world elegance. An elevator connects all floors, including the rooftop lounge where evenings unfold over panoramic sunsets. There's no blaring television in shared spaces — just corners made for conversation, a book from the library, or a slow cup of chai in the courtyard. Housekeeping is handled with care and discretion, ensuring your peace is never disturbed.

At Amoli, luxury isn't about excess — it's about creating space for stillness, connection, and quiet joy.

The People Behind Amoli

The People Behind Amoli

Where passion meets preservation.

Devendra’s childhood was spent in the serene cantonment towns of India, growing up as the son of an Army officer. Those formative years, surrounded by discipline, diversity, and rich oral traditions, instilled in him a deep appreciation for India’s cultural mosaic.

Over the past two decades, he has led travelers through the length and breadth of the country, not as a guide but as a storyteller — bringing history, heritage, and human connections alive. Having made Jaipur his home for over 30 years, Devendra longed to create a space that reflected the India he knows intimately: timeless, warm, and full of stories.

That vision came to life when he joined hands with Vipin Mathur, whose ancestral haveli — Amoli — had stood quiet for too long. Together, they dreamt of reviving it not as a hotel, but as a living, breathing home that celebrates old-world charm with heartfelt hospitality. Devendra now curates immersive guest experiences at Amoli, from walks through hidden alleys to chai-fueled conversations on the terrace, inviting every guest to feel not like a visitor — but like someone returning to a home they never knew they missed.

At Amoli, walls don’t just shelter — they remember.

You’re not staying in a hotel, but in a story still unfolding.

Our Team

At the heart of Amoli is a team bound by friendship, heritage, and a shared dream — to breathe life back into an old haveli and welcome travelers not just as guests, but as part of a story still being written.

Sony Singh
Co-Host & Culinary Soul

Tour leader, food lover, and instinctive host — Sony brings a quiet magic to Amoli. Known for her traditional slow-cooked Rajasthani dishes like laal maas, ker sangri, and gatta curry, she now pours her energy into creating unforgettable experiences for guests — from cooking sessions to food and heritage walks in the alleys around the haveli. After running her own food ventures, Sony has found her true calling in Amoli — where every meal feels like home.

Vipin Mathur
Heritage Custodian

A soft-spoken presence behind Amoli at Sitaram Bhawan's revival, Vipin is deeply connected to the haveli — he grew up within its very walls, watching it fade with time. Though involved in multiple business ventures, his heart has always remained here. With his family — wife, parents, and two children — living next door, Vipin played a key role in bringing the haveli back to life. Amoli is as much his home as it is his legacy — now open to the world.
